ARAA-Otrada is a nonprofit corporation committed to the cultural, educational and charitable activities of Americans of Russian descent community. Our 11 acre Cultural Center in Chestnut Ridge, New York is conveniently located just 40 minutes from Manhattan, easily accessible from the tri-state NY area.
ARAA-Otrada is a volunteer organization run by a dedicated board of directors and we are always welcoming new members who share our values and wish to help support our goals and objectives.
Together, we continue to deliver upon our mission as a non-profit organization, enhancing the quality of life for our membership, visitors, and the Americans of Russian descent community.
Cultural and Educational Activities
ARAA-Otrada is a forum for cultural and intellectual exchange. Every year we host lecturers, artists, singers, and performers from around the globe. Through these events, ARAA-Otrada aims to foster an environment of academic and artistic exchange between peoples of Russian heritage residing both in America and abroad.
Aid and Outreach
To date, the charitable works of ARAA-Otrada have touched many lives. Examples of ARAA-Otrada’s on-going humanitarian activities include the provision of clothing, medical equipment and food to the needy in the far corners of the world to support impoverished families, the homeless, sick children, orphans, and those impacted by natural disasters and military conflicts.
In addition to housing, ARAA-Otrada's 11 acre facility features a chapel, two reception halls, and a children's playground.
Numerous cultural events happen at our facility year-round, such as various musical, dance and theatrical performances, films showings, formal dances and other indoor and outdoor events.
