Together, we continue to deliver upon our mission as a non-profit organization, enhancing the quality of life for our membership, visitors, and the Russian American community.
Cultural and Educational Activities
ARAA-Otrada is a forum for cultural and intellectual exchange. Every year we host lecturers, artists, singers, and performers from around the globe. Through these events, ARAA-Otrada aims to foster an environment of academic and artistic exchange between peoples of Russian heritage residing both in America and abroad.
Aid and Outreach
To date, the charitable works of Otrada have touched the lives of both Russians and Russian-Americans in need.
Examples of Otrada’s on-going humanitarian activities include the provision of clothing, medical equipment and food to the needy in the far corners of Russia and support of impoverished families, sick children and orphans. ARAA-Otrada activity has supported over 250 needy families in Russia and provides cost effective housing to many Russian immigrants in NY.
In addition to housing, ARAA-Otrada's 11 acre facility features two reception halls, a dance studio, and a children's playground.
Numerous Russian-American cultural events happen at our facility year-round, such as various musical, dance and theatrical performances, films showings, formal dances and other indoor and outdoor events, as well as our annual picnic. This fundraising event is a celebration of Russian-American culture through ethnic music, dancing, food and entertainment.
Our halls are available for rental for members and non members alike.
To foster an opportunity for Russian Americans to learn more about their heritage and traditions, ARAA-Otrada maintains a library of Russian books. This provides an ideal reading resource to those interested in Russian culture - its arts and entertainment, history, traditions and language. The library is open by appointment and both members and visitors may enjoy the diverse collection.
ARAA-Otrada always welcomes new members, volunteers and donors who share our commitment to serving the Russian American community. If you are interested in becoming a member, a volunteer, or would like to consider a gift to ARAA-Otrada please reach out to us.
